This incident marks the second major tragedy involving Indian nationals in Nepal within a month. Last month, a devastating landslide in Chitwan district swept two buses into Trishuli river, claiming the lives of at least five Indians.
The landslide, which occurred on July 12 in Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road, involved two buses carrying 65 passengers, including seven Indians. While three people managed to swim to safety, the search for two missing individuals is still ongoing.
The bodies of five Indian nationals from the landslide incident have been recovered, with 25 bodies found along the Narayani riverbanks and near the Triveni Dam, approximately 103 km downstream from the incident site. However, only 19 of these bodies have been identified as those missing from the landslide.
