Two bodies also recovered by rescue teams

10 persons, buried on Wednesday, in the debris of a landslide on the Ferozepur (Punjab)-Shipki La (Kinnaur) national highway 5, near Nigulsari in Kinnaur district, were rescued by teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the Army, police and local residents.
The teams also recovered two bodies from the spot.

One of the fortunate victims was saved in a very tricky operation and the video of this task has already become viral on social media.
The continuing shower of rocks from the portion of the hill that got dislodged was hampering the rescue operation which, however, continued nevertheless.
ITBP spokesman Vivek Pandey informed that 200 jawans of the third battalion of ITBP were engaged in the rescue operation at the spot. The teams had to stop work several times to avoid getting hit by rocks plummeting down.
Nearly 40 persons are feared trapped in the debris.
