SHIMLA: A Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus on its way from Shimla to Tharoch met with an accident near Sainj in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district on Friday (September 8, 2023) morning.
According to information, 10 persons were injured in the accident and all were rushed to a hospital from where three seriously injured were referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla. Though the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, the driver is learnt to have lost control over the bus and it feel off the road near Sainj.
Himachal Road Transport Corporation Managing Director Rohan Chand Thakur said the bus (HP03B-6127) was going from Shimla to Tharoch. “There were many passengers in the bus along with driver Pradeep Kumar and conductor Praveen. The bus went out of control near Sainj. Many passengers have been injured and are undergoing treatment,” he said.
Sub-Inspector Sher Singh has reached the incident site and the police are investigating the reasons behind the incident. Bus passengers and eyewitnesses are being interrogated in the matter. Eyewitnesses said it was a matter of relief that the bus was saved from falling into a deep gorge. As soon as the bus went out of control, it got stuck on trees beneath the road.
